(Baron Masham, created 1712; extinct 1776; Sir Samuel Masham, fourth bart. of High Lever, whose wife, a near relation of Sarah Jennings, wife of John, first Duke of Marlborough, was the favourite of Queen Anne; Samuel, second Lord Masham d. s. p.). Same Arms. Crest—A griffin’s head couped or, between two wings erect gu. Supporters—Dexter, a lion sa.; sinister, a leopard guard, ppr., both crowned with an eastern crown or. Motto—Mihi jussa capessere.
