(Thoralby, co. York, bart. extinct 1706; Sir Edward Payler, of Thoralby, was created a baronet in 1642, and dying about 1649, was s. by his grandson, Sir Watkinson Tayler, second bart., who d.s.p. in 1706; shortly after, Thomas Turner, Esq., of Kent, assumed the surname of Payler; and had, besides a dau., Margaret, wife of the Rev. Edward Taylor, of Bifrons, a son, the late Thomas Watkinson Payler, Esq., of Hedcn). Gu. three lions pass. guard ar. debruised by a bend or, charged with three mullets of six points sa.
