Crest—A pelican, wings expanded, in her nest per pale or and az. vulning herself and feeding her young ppr. charged on the wing with a lozenge ar. thereon an escallop sa.

(Boileau-Pollen, Little Bookham, co. Surrey; descended from the same ancestor as Pollen, Bart., of Redenham. Edward Pollen, Esq., eldest son and heir of John Paulyn, Esq., M.P. for Andover, was father of Benjamin Pollen, who inherited, through his mother, the manor of Little Bookham; his dau. and heiress d. unm. in 1764, when she bequeathed her estates to her stepmother, with remainder to her half-uncle, and then to her cousin, Rev. George Pollen, Rector of Bookham, whose eldest dau. m. John Peter Boileau, Esq., and was mother of Rev. George Pollen Boileau, of Little Bookham, who assumed the surname of Pollen upon succeeding his maternal grandfather in 1812).
