(Lullington, and Duffield Hall, co. Derby. This family obtained Newton, in the Isle of Ely, by marriage, 1262. William Colvile, of Newton, was one of the Knights of the Royal Oak, and his descendant, Robert Colvile, Esq. (father of the late Sir Charles Henry Colvile, Knt., of Duffield Hall) sold Newton Colville 1792). Crest—On a chapeau gu. turned up erm. a lion statant, tail etended ar. gorged with a label of three points of the first. Motto—Persevere.
