This family enjoyed nobility in Messina, was decorated by the barony of Gisira, passed to the order of Malta, as the fourth of another family, in 1588 in the person of Francesco Ciampoli-Corso-Comito-Aquilone. From Messina it passed into Augusta, and in this city we find a Domenico Corso and Balistrero with the position of proconservator 1725 and Apollonio, Tommaso, Mario, Giovanni and Filippo Corso and Bonavia we see them noted in the noble coaming of that city. We also find it in Palermo, in which city a Mario wore the senatorial toga in 1599-1600 and 1602-3.

Weapon: in red, on the right arm armed with gold, dressed in green, holding a bundle of darts, and two star-shaped roses, all silver, accompanied by two roses of the same, ordered at the tip.
