(Barnborough, co. York, lords of that place from temp. Henry III. to Henry VIII.; the heiress m. John More, Esq. only son of the ever memorable Sir Thomas More). Or, three lions ramp. gu. Crest—A cat-a-mountain; the origin of the crest, says tradition, was the circumstance of the death of Percival Cresacre, who, it is asserted, was attacked and killed by a wild cat from one of the little woods of Barnborough.
