(granted 14 April, 1842, to Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, of Bombay, Justice of the Peace at that Presidency, a distinguished and benevolent Parsee merchant, who received knighthood, by patent, in 1842, was created a bart. in 1857, and was presented, by command of Her Majesty, with a gold medal, inscribed “To Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, Knt., from the British Government, in honour of his munificence and his patriotism
