Henry VIII., by James Purdon, Esq., of Kirklington; confirmed by Usher, Ulster, 1588, to Gilbert Purdon, Esq., of Dublin, son of James Purdon, of Kirklington). Quarterly, 1st and 4th, ar. a leopard’s face betw. a chief and a chev. sa.; 2nd, or, a lion ramp. sa. over all on a fess gu. three mullets of the fleld, for Casauson; 3rd, or, a cross gu. in the 1st quarter a dexter hand sa., for Burke. Crest—A dexter arm embowed ppr. holding a banner gu. fringed or, charged with a leopard’s face ar. the staff broken above the hand. Motto—Pro aris et focis.
