Blazons & Genealogy Notes
1) Thorn (Prusse) – Parti au 1 d’or à la demi-aigle de sable mouvante du parti au 2 d’argent à un tronc écoté au naturel posé en pal coupé en haut et en bas.
2) From Burgerliche Geschlechter. A wonderfully colored version of a Georg Knoff coat of arms registered in the Rheinholdsbank of Danzig (now Gdansk) in 1574. The red crenelated wall is found to be on the southern Vistula river where there’s a Knoff estate (possibly 1400s to 1500s). The yellow background generally stands for being a merchant which he was. The crest also contains the silver eagle and a helmet with silver and blue wings for the crest.
